The bitcontro(r) MPEG-2 decoder is a DirectShow(r) filter for Windows Media Player or other multimedia players, which are able to load the codec. He's compatible with ISO MPEG video standards and supports DXVA, LPCM and MPEG-1 audio formats.

The bitcontrol(r) MPEG-2 video and audio decoder is part of the bitcontrol(r) multimedia technology for MS Windows(r) 98/ME/2K/XP and for RTOS QNX(r) 6.x. Both decoder parts, video and audio, are running as built-in DirectShow(r) Filter under MS Windows(r) or as plug-in under RTOS QNX(r) 6.x. It can also be used in conjunction with Windows Media Player or other multi-media players, which are able to load DirectShow(r) filters or QNX(r) plug-ins. The bitcontrol(r) MPEG-2 decoder is very robust against input failures, like drop outs of input stream, like bit errors and other signal noise. So, the decoder is very suitable for DVB-T, DVB-S and internet streaming applications. The bitcontrol(r) MPEG-2 decoder is capable of real-time decoding of MPEG-2 video bitstreams of all profiles and all levels up to High Levels with 80 Mbps, including 4:2:2.
