Etymonix SoftReel codec is a faster than real-time MPEG-2 video decoder optimized for multi-core systems. It enables smooth high-quality playback of MPEG-2 SD and HD (including 4:2:2) video streams up to HD 1920x1152 in DVB applications for digital satellite TV (ProgDVB, DVBViewer, DVBDream, MyTheatre, AltDVB), Windows Media Player and other DirectShow-compatible products. Also available to developers who want to easily support MPEG-2 playback.
